What is Speech Therapy?

Pediatric Speech Therapy (ST) focuses on evaluating and treating communication disorders and feeding/swallowing difficulties. Our goal is to help children develop the skills they need to communicate effectively at home, in school, and across the lifespan.  Heart to Heart offers in-person services in Athens/Oconee/surrounding areas as well as telehealth services throughout the state of Georgia.

  • We begin with a comprehensive evaluation, covering everything from articulation and fluency to social communication and AAC needs. Following the evaluation, we partner with your family to create an individualized therapy plan tailored to your child’s unique strengths and challenges

  • Communication is a human right. We work to improve your child's quality of life, academic performance, and social-emotional well-being while providing essential training for parents and caregivers.

  • We specialize in helping patients with:

    • Expressive/Receptive Language Deficits

    • Feeding and Swallowing Disorders

    • Articulation, Phonological & Fluency Disorders

    • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

    • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

    • Processing & Developmental Disorders

    • Motor Speech Disorders & Childhood Apraxia of Speech

School & Daycare Partnerships

We understand that busy schedules can make after-school appointments a challenge. To better serve our community, Heart to Heart partners with local private schools and daycares to provide on-site therapy. This collaborative approach allows us to work directly with teachers and staff, ensuring your child’s progress carries over into their daily academic setting.
